Cancellation Scenarios


This article is intended to outline potential cancellation scenarios, the party responsible for payment, and the related email notifications that are automatically sent out.

Cancellations Made by Admin

  • Spot holder cancels, renter is not automatically rebooked
    > No notification to admin
    > Notification to spot holder
     - Alert spot holder if the spot could be reopened or not
    > Notification to renter
     - Alert renter that rental week(s) were cancelled by CDC Admin

Cancellations Made by Spot Holder

  • Spot holder cancels, renter is automatically rebooked
    > No notification to admin
    > No notification to renter
    > Notification to old spot holder:
     - Successful cancellation
    > Notification to new spot holder:
     - Your offer was rented
  • Spot holder cancels, renter is not automatically rebooked
    > Notification to admin
     - Spot holder cancelled
    > Notification to renter
     - Your reservation was cancelled
    > Notification to old spot holder
     - Successful cancellation

Cancellation Made by Renter

  • Renter cancels (more than 3 business days)
    > Notification to admin
     - Request asking admin not to bill the parent
    > Notification to spot holder
     - Reservation was cancelled, but their spot was made available in the app again
    > Notification to renter
     - Cancellation successful, not getting billed
  • Renter cancels (within 3 business days)
    > Notification to admin
     - Cancellation successful within 3 business days - they will be responsible for the cost, unless it is rebooked. If it’s rebooked, the new renter becomes responsible for payment.
    > Notification to spot holder
     - Reservation was cancelled, but their spot was made available in the app again
    > Notification to spot renter
     - Cancelled within 3 business days - they will be responsible for the cost, unless it is rebooked
